Anthropic, the maker of the Claude AI model, has signed a deal to use the full compute capacity at SpaceX’s Colossus 1 data center, the company confirmed Wednesday. The partnership is the latest in a series of AI infrastructure deals Anthropic has secured ahead of its expected IPO in June 2026.

The Colossus 1 facility, operated by Elon Musk’s SpaceX, represents one of the most powerful AI compute clusters currently available. By securing exclusive access to its full capacity, Anthropic gains a significant infrastructure advantage as demand for AI compute continues to outpace supply globally.

The deal comes as Anthropic prepares for what is expected to be one of the most closely watched technology IPOs of 2026. The company has been aggressively building out its infrastructure partnerships to support growing enterprise demand for its Claude AI models.

The AI compute arms race has intensified in 2026, with major technology firms investing hundreds of billions of dollars into data centres, GPU clusters, and energy infrastructure to power the next generation of artificial intelligence systems.
