A chilling assassination plot targeting First Daughter Ivanka Trump has been uncovered by US authorities — and the suspect, an Iraqi national with deep ties to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, had already obtained a blueprint of her Florida home.
Mohammad Baqer Saad Dawood Al-Saadi, 32, was arrested in Turkey on May 15, 2026 and extradited to the United States on charges of orchestrating terror attacks across the US and Europe. According to a New York Post report published May 22, Al-Saadi had pledged to assassinate Ivanka Trump as revenge for the 2020 US drone strike that killed Iranian commander Qasem Soleimani.

A Pledge to Burn Down the House of Trump
Former Iraqi Embassy deputy military attaché Entifadh Qanbar told the New York Post that Al-Saadi made no secret of his murderous intentions after Soleimani’s killing.
“After Qasem was killed, he went around telling people: we need to kill Ivanka to burn down the house of Trump the way he burned down our house,” Qanbar said.
US investigators say Al-Saadi, a senior commander within the Iraqi militia Kata’ib Hezbollah, had compiled detailed intelligence on Ivanka Trump’s Florida residence including architectural plans and maps of the property. He also posted threats and surveillance material online, according to court documents.
Who Is Al-Saadi?
Al-Saadi is described by prosecutors as a senior figure within Iran-Iraq terror networks, with links to both Kata’ib Hezbollah and the IRGC’s elite Quds Force — the same unit that Soleimani commanded until his death. The Department of Justice has charged him in connection with 18 alleged attacks and attempted attacks across Europe and North America. His extradition from Turkey was completed within days of his May 15 arrest.
The Soleimani Connection
Qasem Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike near Baghdad Airport on January 3, 2020 — a strike ordered by President Trump during his first term. Iran declared him a martyr and vowed revenge. Multiple assassination plots against Trump family members and senior US officials have since been uncovered, underscoring the enduring nature of the threat.
US Prepares for Potential Military Action
The Ivanka plot emerges as US-Iran tensions have reached their highest point since the strikes of early 2026. President Trump received military briefings between May 19 and May 22 on airstrike options against Iran, with nuclear talks at a standstill. CBS News has reported the US military is actively preparing options for renewed strikes.
Iran’s army warned this week it would open new fronts and deploy new equipment and methods if US attacks resume — language that markets interpreted as a direct escalation signal.
